Police Officer Over-Reacts
There have been a number of police taser abuses recently. Yes, they are very effective, mostly safe, and 99% non-lethal, but some officers have taken to using them without discrimination. The video below shows the dash-cam of a police officer who pulled over a mother in a mini-van. Not only did he change his story about why he pulled her over, but proceeded to give confusing orders (ordering her back in to her vehicle, then right back out again).
The mother is not entirely blameless. She didn't follow instruction, and acted aggressively, but officers are trained to handle these types of situations. At this point there was no reason for the tasering.
