Know Your Credit Card Minimum Payment Rights

Credit Card fees can be onerous on businesses.  Many businesses try to reduce these costs by imposing  "minimum" or "maximum" purchase amounts to use your credit card in their stores.  Unfortunately for them, these limits are against the Visa and Mastercard terms of service.  Establishments that accept Visa and Mastercard CAN NOT deny the use of any valid Visa or Mastercard. You can read the Mastercard Agreement yourself HERE or the Visa Agreement HERE NonToxicReviews provides a nice wallet-size card you can print out with the appropriate section of the agreement as well as a phone number to call to report violations.

Be Careful How You Sign Your Credit Card Receipt

Juvenile, but very funny.

With any story, there is a setup process. Here is the setup to this story. About 6 months ago, I was making a purchase with my credit card and when I went to sign the electronic signature machine, it was broken. By broken, I mean that when I touched the pen to the machine, it went crazy and didn't look anything like my signature. It looked like a drunk 4 year old signed my name for me. It accepted the signature without any problems. So this really made me wonder what I could do to give my credit card company something to laugh about. I mean, they obviously don't review the signatures since they never called me or declined a purchase. For fucks sake, it could have been a stolen card.

I started out modest by signing with a line or an "X". Occasionally I would do last name first. After a couple of months, I became bolder. I wrote goofy shit, drew pictures, etc. Here's a list of some of my favorite signatures over the past few months:

  • I AM NOT KINGPIN
  • I STOLE THIS
  • FUCK OFF
  • FUCK YOU
  • WALMART SUCKS
  • CALL ME
  • CROTCHY CROTCHINGTON
  • MY BALLS ITCH
  • 911
  • I'M A CRIMINAL
  • THANKS FOR THE STUFF

Today I went the extra mile. When it came time to sign my name, a thought popped in my head. I should draw a picture. But what picture should I draw? I smirked as something completely juvenile came to me.

Color Blindness Test

How to Use this Test:

The original card version of this test (by Dr Shinobu Ishihara) was designed to be carried out in a room adequately lit by daylight. The presence of direct sunlight or artificial light may produce some discrepancy in the results because of some alteration in the appearance of shades of colour. This electronic version may also produce some discrepancies as the images have been optimized for web-based delivery and with a monitor resolution of 800x600 and 256 colour display or greater. The results of this test are not to be considered a valid medical test for color blindness and merely serve to illustrate the tests available. If you have any queries about your own possible color vision deficiencies consult your local GP. Position yourself about 75cm from your monitor so that the colour test image you are looking at is at eye level, read the description of the image and see what you can see!! It is not necessary in all cases to use the entire set of images. In a large scale examination the test can be simplified to 6 tests; test, one of tests 2 or 3, one of tests 4, 5, 6 or 7, one of tests 8 or 9, one of tests 10, 11, 12 or 13 and one of tests 14 or 15.

3 Cards...... 1 Company

This makes no sense to me.   I hate credit cards.  Hate them with a passion.  But in today's world having at least 1 for emergencies, online purchasing, or age verification basically makes them a neccessity.  I use mine as LITTLE as I possibly can.  Unfortunately, with car breakdowns, roommates that can't pay their share of the bills/rent, etc I've had to use them a bit over the past few years.  Originally I had 3 cards from 3 different companies.  Only ever used 2.  Since then my credit line on them has continuously increased so my need for multiple cards has diminished, but I'm now stuck unable to combine them because since I got them all 3 have been bought out by the same company..... Bank of America.  Yet, they kept the cards seperate even though they are all under 1 account in my name.  So I'm stuck paying 2 minimum balances and interest on 2 cards from 1 company.  I'm currently trying to convince them to cancel all 3 cards and move the balances onto just 1 card with 1 payment that I can pay off easier, quicker, and while saving myself some money monthly that can be put aside to my other bills.  We'll see how this goes... What I hate more than credit cards....   Credit Card Companies.
