Candy Corn In Space

Astronauts are allowed to bring special “crew preference” items when they go up in space. NASA astronaut Don Pettit chose candy corn for his five and a half month stint aboard the International Space Station. But these candy corn were more than a snack, Pettit used them for experimentation. Footage courtesy of Don Pettit. Music courtesy of Bardo Music/South Hill Project. Produced by Flora Lichtman

NetFlix for Books!

A new company has come out recently with the idea of applying the NetFlix idea to books.  With plans starting at $20 / month you get books in the mail, keep them as long as you want, then send them back and get a new one.  The main page is a little sparse at the moment due to server problems with the sudden BOOM in popularity, but should be back to normal soon.  Give it a look. Cheney Double-Talk

How does he get away with it? In 2001, Dick Cheney claimed he didn’t have to turn over documents to Congress by claiming Executive Privilege. An abuse of the power, but ok, the Constitution as I know it puts the Vice President in the Executive Branch. Now this month, Cheney is refusing to comply with an executive order by claiming that since he is the President of the Senate, he is not a member of the Executive Branch, but instead a member of the Legislative and thus doesn’t have to comply with that either. Wait…. WHAT!? So he’s a member of BOTH yet NEITHER branch? Dick Cheney is his own branch? What form of twisted logic is this?
