One Hundred Push-ups

Remember push-ups in gym class?   Everyone hated them.  For many they were difficult, awkward, or just tiring.  Push-ups however are a great exercise, strengthening many different muscle groups at the same time.   One website is pushing the exercise and has laid out a plan they say will get anyone to be able to perform 100 push-ups in SIX WEEKS.
If you're serious about increasing your strength, follow this six week training program and you'll soon be on your way to completing 100 consecutive push ups! Think there's no way you could do this? I think you can! All you need is a good plan, plenty of discipline and about 30 minutes a week to achive this goal! No doubt some of you can already do 50 consecutive push ups, but let's face it, you're in a big minority. Most of you reading this won't even be able to manage 20 pushups. Actually, I'm sure many of you can't even do 10. However, it really doesn't matter which group you fall into. If you follow the progressive push ups training program, I'm positive you'll soon be able to do 100 push ups!
Give it a try.  Strengthen yourself. 100 Push-Ups

Dear Activist,

Stand against oppression burma225pix2 Monks in Burma: How you can helptake action Monks in Burma: How you can help
I've watched in horror all week. In Burma, Buddhist monks, marching against tyranny, are reported to have been disrobed and shackled. Many detained, many killed. They marched against injustice and oppression, and their actions were met with a cruel and ruthless crackdown. You can take a stand against the oppression of these peaceful monks. Take action today. The death counts vary wildly. But you can be sure that the military junta has brutally beaten and possibly murdered many more than we'll ever be able to confirm. Please take action today for the people of Burma. As you know, Amnesty International has been working for decades to protect human rights in Burma (Myanmar) and to support the pro-democracy forces' right to peaceful dissent. When the people of Burma last staged mass pro-democracy protests back in 1988, the military junta murdered thousands. But history does not have to repeat itself. Take action now to help prevent more killings by the military government. Tell your friends and family to do the same. The world is watching. Please do your part. Thank you, cox sig Monks in Burma: How you can help Larry Cox Executive Director Amnesty International USA

Cheney Funding

Earlier this week in Congress the Senate Appropriations Committee voted to cut off funding to the Office of the Vice President until Dick Cheney's office complied with an executive order in which he would have to turn over documents complying with the national security disclosure rules. Cheney has been denying that he has to follow the rule claiming that he's immune since he's also President of the Senate and thus not fully part of the Executive Branch. Yet previously he's denied documents to the Senate claiming he fall under Executive Privilege. These claims that basically amount to him being his own 4th branch of government have upset a lot in Congress, and citizens as well. Unfortunately, today a lone Democrat changed his vote in the committee and thus the funding to Cheney's office has been resumed. Panel Cuts Cheney Funding Panel Restores Cheney Funding
