10 yr old commits suicide because parents don't let him play video games

A horrible trajedy.  Way too many video game related jokes available (extra lives, power-ups, fall damage).  A sad story.  A 10 year old boy jumped from the 19th floor of his apartment building in Moscow because his parents had banned him from playing any video games "due to bad conduct in school and a poor performance in studies." I feel for his family and at the same time am worried about the fear-mongering "video games are killing our kids!!!"  that is sure to be sparked by this. News Article

Bush's Multiple Blunders Over 24 Hours

"Bush Insults Hosts, calling Australia 'Austria' He continued his blunders by then confusing the organisations of APEC and OPEC. As the audience laughed at him, Bush attempted to cover up by claiming: "He invited me to the OPEC summit next year."" "Last night, President Bush issued a statement wishing “greetings” to those “celebrating Rosh Hashanah." Unfortunately for the White House, Rosh Hashanah does not start until next week — sunset on Sept. 12" Now I'm not saying he's a complete idiot.... but how do you take someone seriously that makes these types of errors very often?

Electric Company

So today is one of the hottest days of the year.   High is 95F  and Heat Index is above 100F.  7/6/07 I receive a notice that the electric company hadn't received my check and would turn my power off on 7/10 if they hadn't received payment by 7/9.   I cancelled the first check and mailed a new one out on 7/7.  I figured it would get there on 7/9 and everything would be fine.  Now on 7/9 they didn't get my check by 10 am and so shut my power off already.   I'm not pleased.   Working on getting the power back on, but now because of the 10 AM rule I need to pay an additional $25.  All because either they or the Post Office lost my first check.
